The inaugural Melbourne Football Club – China Business and AFL Development mission to China was an outstanding success. 

This was in no small part due to the energy and the enthusiasm of Tom Parker. Tom’s ability to speak Mandarin, plus decades of China experience was invaluable. 

Tom’s professional manner in dealing with the logistics, and personal commitment to ensure the delegates bonded as a group, played an integral part in a well managed, team-spirited venture. I was pleased to participate as Host of the delegation. 

The experience of visiting China, speaking with business leaders and sampling the culture created an indelible memory.Rousing interest in Australian Rules Football engendered the Aussie passion for our national sport in all concerned.
